that mobo is proprietary as all hell.

will only go nicely into another case of the same make/model it came out of.
why the need for the case change?

it 'looks' like the standoffs to screw it to a case are in the right locations but all your access ports (front and back) are not.

i mean, you physically could do it, but it'll look ugly.

By "new case" if you mean a standard desktop type case the answer is NO

Ok, I see. The main reason I wanted to upgrade the case was for better cooling as the cooling in that case suck and there’s no room for any more fans. (It’s a tiny case, everything is crammed together). Second was for looks. Would there be any motherboard (possibly under $150) that would fit all the parts? I just don’t know if the psu or anything is proprietary. I don’t think it is but I’d rather be safe than sorry. If the power supply is proprietary I’d be okay with replacing that too. Thanks for the help so far.

You really would be better off building a new machine with parts from scratch, with standard components.

those PSU connectors on the motherboard are standard.
even if the PSU is proprietary, it should still connect but does it hace the standard holes in the standard places to screw into a standard case.

that's the point (I think) Gus is making - eventually something in your current build is going to catch you out.
that mobo is very customised, as sounds the case.
you should either leave things as they are or, since you are willing to delve, go the whole hog and get standardised gear.

how old is the PC?

Pc is relatively new, just over a year old so the warranty is out. The power supply screw holes look to be standard as the ones I found on google images, so it should fit into another case. I’ll attach a photo so you guys can see.

If this power supply is indeed non-proprietary that would be great. I know that you guys are saying to get all new stuff, but shouldn’t all I need just be a motherboard(if psu is non proprietary)? Ram is normal, cpu air cooler is normal, hard drives should be normal (unless acer is going that far lol) and it is a normal i7. I’ve been looking around a bit and found this motherboard - https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07BQBWWY5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_1O0SDbXYGW3ZQ
it seems to be comparable with all my parts, and that (and the case) should be all I need to replace (please correct me if I’m wrong, I am totally new to computers). Thanks for all the help so far, and I hope we can get a definitive answer soon. Thanks!

If I may chime in folks

You really don`t want to use the present PSU in any upgrade, it is cheap, generic and poor quality and does not even have an on/off power switch on it, see info on attachment below;

As it stands you are looking at a new case, MB and PSU but in case you are not already aware you will also need to purchase a new Windows product key as you cannot reuse the one from the Acer as it is tied to that MB.

Sorry for not getting around to replying, I didn’t get the email. From what I can gather, I need a new motherboard, case And power supply. Since the old power supply ran at 432 watts, I would probably need a 500w power supply. I will probably get a new cpu cooler, probably by cooler master. The cpu cooler on my current prebuilt is terrible, and I mean TERRIBLE. 50 degrees idle. If there’s anything I’m missing, please tell me. I’d need to (most likely) buy a new windows key, which isn’t a big deal for me. Thanks for all the help so fat.

Socket 1151 MBs are hard to come by and therefore expensive, the least expensive included in an example parts list for you here

What a coincidence, I was just looking at this motherboard. Somehow it's going for 86 cad (used, but if it doesn't work Amazon refunds) on amazon.ca, so I think I'll pick it up with a new case and cooler. Thanks for all the help.
