Would not class being in a games menu as being under load in all honesty.

Stick to that advised in my reply #19 but in addition repeat the steps that caused the last episode, with the exception of leaving the room that is.

Ok, typing this as I sit in menu of the game.

I uninstalled iCUE and rebooted my system as per your advice. First thing I noticed as soon as I booted the system was the processor was 58c but was very quickly bought back down to the low 40s by the cooler.

Currently sitting on the main menu about 15 minutes now, processor is in the low to mid 40s and is pretty much staying there with the exception of a few dashes to the low 50s but is quickly being bought back down.

GPU started in the low 40s and currently sitting in the low to mid 50s. Fans are definitely getting louder, but quite slowly.

No crashes as of yet.

Try a bit of gaming, if things go okay, get rid of any other unused RGB software then go here and download the latest version of the software that you need.

Spent a while gaming, and everything was smooth! (other than the stuttering game which is nothing unusual for this game!)

Holy crap I think the problem was iCUE all along... I'm quite shocked! Though I do remember at some point updating from iCUE 4 to 5 but I can't remember when. I know I had to uninstall and reinstall 5 a few times as it would not detect my cooler. Wondering if my PC doesn't like 5 and I should go back to 4?

While I'm at it, a few errors in event viewer which have been around for a very long time, wondering if they are anything I should worry about or I can leave them alone.

1. Session "NT Kernel Logger" failed to start with the following error: 0xC0000035
and
2. Metadata staging failed, result=0x80070490 for container '{19BAC2C9-FD62-11EE-BBDD-806E6F6E6963}'

I'm so appreciative of your help! This has been bugging me all year literally. Thank you SO much, I really hope we've cracked it!

Fingers crossed for you and fwiw never worry about anything in Event Viewer that is not marked as Critical, Windows is throwing out and correcting errors all the while that you are using it.

I've just installed iCUE 4, pretty sure I had no issues with this one. I've also just been doing some research and noticed I set up my fan curve wrong, I'd been setting it up to work off the processor temp not the coolant temp.

I'm going to try this a few days to verify the issue is gone and let you know.
