Mobo + Vvidia card for multiple monitors?

Status
Not open for further replies.
Hello, noob here.
I want a couple more monitors. Probably not 4K, but total of say 4 to 6, QHD minimum
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700K CPU @ 4.20GHz, 4201 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
Display card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti That has 3 outputs

I have an Asus Prime Z270-P mobo
AMD CrossfireYes
Nvidia SLINo
(which means nothing to me)

Mobo has hdmi and dvi video outputs. I'm not using those.
The 1050I card, has 3 outputs., 2 of which I'm using

Should I be able to use all 5 outputs at once?
I don't have spare monitors to try it right now.

If not , are there options short of a new video card to handle the lot?
There's one whose name I forget which will handle 6 x 4k outs, about £270, also one around £90 which does 4 x QHD.
The 1050I will do 7000 wide so I guess that would be 2 x QHD 21x9 type,
(3440 x 1440), or if not 16x9.
Gaming - I never played a computer game in my life and I don't suppose I'll ever want to!

Can anyone tell me what the options are, what if anything I'd have to set up in the bios for mobo + card , or whatnot.?

Ta.

Once a 3rd party add-on graphics card is installed, the mobo video ports get disabled.
So your end solution will be a good graphics card that has the number of ports you need for each of your monitors.
And the new card may require a better power supply unit.
Other than that, having more monitors won't require any further upgrades.

Getting Photoshop to run nicely may require more memory and a better processor, but that's another discussion.
It should simply be a process of finding a card that suits your needs of 4 to 6 monitors.

4 monitors will be easy as NVidia have their Quadro range, now rebranded as RTX; https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/design...hics/#nv-accordion-bd50fbb79d-item-7577526115
