memory upgrade

I have an HP desktop P6530F. I want to upgrade the memory. It says that it comes with 6 GB of
  • PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333)

and supports 16 GB max. Can I just add 2 4GB modules of the same type of memory to get 14 GB? It just seems odd that the system has 6 GB.

Thanks,
Marc

From what I see is that it supports what you need to do is find out which ones the system already has in it and match to those.

  • DIMM types:
    • PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333)
    • PC3-8500 (DDR3-1066)
Like @veeg stated yes you can defiantly do that.
