Solved "Medium" Sized HD Monitors?

Due to a chronic lack of work space, I'm looking to buy a HD Monitor no larger than 19 inches. These seem as rare as dragon's teeth. Any reason why? NB. It needs to be Full HD - not screens that are euphemistically described as "HD Ready", "HD Quality" or "HD Clarity". It has to be Full HD or nothing.

Hi Jelly Bean - many thanks for the link. This Samsung monitor certainly looks the business. It even has a pivot function, which is extremely useful for my line of work. Still, I'd like to know if a stated resolution of 1400 x 900 counts as Full HD. I'd always thought that 1920 x 1080 was the gold standard here - certainly for HD TVs. Or do PC screens have a different criteria? A bit of a minefield all this seems to me.

Ok Instead of me typing forever here is Resolution/HD explained.
I would simply say a bigger flat screen TV the more pixels/resolution you need,smaller TV less pixels/resolution.But the above link explains it much better.

Have you considered a Full HD TV HDMI connection,does your computer have HDMI connection?
You can then set to extend monitor so all monitors,TV act as long screen.I often us the TV and laptop together and drag n drop pages,video to the TV.

Oddly enough, my ASUS mini-laptop does (as I've just discovered) have a HDMI output connection. I also happen to have a (smallish & still newish) second LED TV, which fairly bristles with HDMI connectors - as well as a couple of MP3 connectors. I'll have to do the experiment(s) and see what happens. . .

Yes, thanks for the HD Resolution link. I haven't studied it yet, but I shall. It could be as you suggest that smaller PC screens don't require so many pixels as their larger brethren. Hmm.

My laptop runs a 43 inch Samsung HDMI.

NOTE:You will have to choose the connection for the TV via the TV,I have to choose HDMI 2

If plugging in the TV and setting it to extend doesnt work on the laptop,leave the TV plugged in and restart the laptop or an update of the GPU hardware driver may kick it in.

Well, I've bit the bullet and bought a 21.5 inch HD Samsung monitor (SE450 series). It arrived this morning and very good it is too. It dwarfs my ASUS mini-notebook (11" screen) by quite a margin, but I can live with this visual comedy. Many thanks for helping me along the way.
