Hello, I have been having a recurring issue with many types of games, from simple games like Papers Please to new-generation graphic games like Reddead 2, DayZ, Rust, etc. These frames continue to drop and I have no clue why and it's incredibly interruptive as I can barely get anything done in the games when I play. Has anyone experienced this issue or know how to fix it?

Clip for reference: https://medal.tv/games/red-dead-2/clips/lq90Tm9HX_4c3/d1337cAaK6lD?invite=cr-MSxkT1IsOTQ2MTA1Miw

Specs:
CPU: Intel i9 10900K
Motherboard: ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Extreme
GPU: 2070 super
2 SSD's (3.5 Terabytes combined)

Can you post the brand and model name or number of the power supply (PSU).

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Apologies for the delay, will get back to you after work today UK time.

Edit to add; Couple of issues going on there, bit of work involved so post back & let us know if you wish to continue.

With the exception of Papers Please each of the other games require an internet connection and two things that are sure to mess this up are having more than one AV program running and using a VPN,, you are doing both so small wonder that you are having issues.

Windows Defender
Windows Defender: Enabled
Firewall
Firewall: Enabled

Display Name: BullGuard Firewall
Antivirus

Virus Signature Database: Up to date
BullGuard Antivirus

TunnelBear Adapter V9

Having more than one AV or Firewall installed on your computer is bad, it will slow down the computer, cause internet connection problems and leave you with no AV protection at all if they cancel each other out as they fight for resources.

Windows 8, 8.1, 10 and 11 come with an improved Windows Defender, it offers the same real-time anti-virus/anti-malware protection as Microsoft Security Essentials. Windows Defender also shares the same malware signature definitions as Microsoft Security Essentials, and Forefront Endpoint Protection. Technically, Microsoft Security Essentials has not been renamed Windows Defender, or combined with it in Windows 8, 8.1, 10 and 11.

If any AV product that you have is a paid for version you should always make sure that you have a copy of the product key kept somewhere safe just in case you ever wish to reinstall it.

Bullguard removal info here

Once any other AV has been correctly uninstalled, check to see if Windows Defender has auto enabled and allow it to update and carry out a full scan of your computer.

Get rid of Tunnel Bear.

Once done, restart, test by using the computer as you normally, post back with an update when you are ready.

NB: Gaming online should always be done via the Ethernet connection, faster and less chance of the signal dropping etc.

After doing everything you said to the best of my ability it seems the issue still persists, I tried it on Kingdom Come Deliverance and it did the same thing except it was a lot less severe than the Red Dead clip.

Had you restarted the PC after uninstalling BullGuard but before running Speccy again.

As was suspected most of your problems were caused by having the two AV programs running at the same time.

Couple of questions;

Why are you missing so many Windows updates.

Why do you have two different specs of RAM.

64GB of your RAM is bottlenecking the CPU because it is too slow and the other 34GB is too fast for the CPU so even if used on its own you would not be able to enable XMP and would instead have to manually OC the RAM to 2933MHz and 1.35V.

The voltage requirements of the RAM are also a problem, the 2400MHz RAM only requires 1.2V whereas the 3200MHz requires 1.35V to be able to work at anything more than 2133MHz.

Partition 2
Partition ID: Disk #1, Partition #2
Disk Letter: C:
File System: NTFS
Volume Serial Number: 0021D088
Size: 953 GB
Used Space: 820 GB (86%)
Free Space: 132 GB (14%

The amount of free storage space shown above is a major issue, Windows should always be on its own drive or on a minimum of a 256GB partition on a larger drive, as to why is explained below;

For Windows to be able to run efficiently and to be able to update you need to have between 20 and 25% of the partition or drive available on a HDD and an SSD between 10 and 15% as free storage space at all times, if you don`t you risk Windows becoming corrupt or not being able to update which puts you at risk of malware attack.

Data only storage devices should not be allowed to get any lower than 10% of free storage space of the full capacity of the drive/partition on the drive, this also to avoid data corruption.

Please note that storage devices can physically fail if the amount of free storage space is allowed to drop below the required 10 or 20/25%
minimum.

Troubleshooting computer problems is a waste of time when it is known that Windows is out of date as any one of a number of the missing hot fixes could be the solution to any problem that you may be having.

Equally as important is being prepared for the need to upgrade to another OS, when the time comes you will only have to worry about upgrading or clean installing Windows to the C: partition as opposed to needing to reinstall all of your programs and data if they were kept on a separate partition on the same or seperate drive.

Windows will also boot up quicker on its own partition as it does not need to install drivers for any third party programs etc.

1) As far as I was concerned I had never missed a windows update, I check my settings weekly for any updates and even checked after reading your post and still found no updates.

2) I received the 34 gigs of ram as a birthday present and assumed it wouldn't be a big deal and after it was put in I saw no issues occurring.

What are the next steps I should take?

You missed answering the above.

No worries about the updates then, you must have done them all rolled up.

The RAM is a real shame and you must decide which of the two sets you use.

You need to free up as much space as possible on the C: to allow for future updates and moving to Windows 11, if me, I would do a clean install to a new 256GB SSD.

Check your browser/s for any BullGuard plugins that may have got left behind.
