Pending OP Response Lightning Strike

Update: with the new HDD pcb board out, and the old HDD pcb board in, and graphics card still out, I was able to get my sign in screen up and was able to sign in! Question(s).... 1) does this mean that the graphics card is fried/shot 2) is the new HDD pcb bad?
 
I found what might be a suitable replacement for the current card:

ASUS Cerberus GeForce® GTX 1050 Ti 4GB OC Edition GDDR5 Gaming Graphics Card​

However, in reading about it, can't determine if it will be a righteous replacement in that some review/questions talk about it being powered straight off the motherboard or it being powered by a 6 pin connector (which is the set up I currently have)
