Lenovo won’t sleep anymore, only hibernate!

Hi guys, this is driving me crazy so I'd love any leads. Out of nowhere my Lenovo z585 (W10 OS) suddenly started hibernating every time I close the lid instead of sleeping.

I've been through my advanced power options countless times, set the HDD to never turn off, entered "powercfg -h off" into admin cmd prompt...nada. I just went into the power options again and clicked where it said Sleep under Lid close action, and found that once you click it that option disappears! i.e. I changed it to "do nothing" then tried to change it back, but the Sleep option was gone! I just canceled my changes, but that makes me wonder if it says sleep as the set action, but actually cannot perform it. Hibernate is available as an option all over the place though.

The only thing I can think of is that before this problem occurred, I made some driver updates with Driver Booster, but I can't recall what they all were. If you have any further suggestions, hit me! Thanks guys :)

Try running a system restore to a date prior to the issue starting and prior to the installation of the Driver Booster being installed.

Please go HERE and download the portable version of Speccy. Save it to somewhere you can find, locate the file and as it comes as a Zip file use your favorite unzip application to decompress it. Open the newly created folder and double left click Speccy.exe if you have a 32 bit system or Speccy64.exe if yours is 64bit. If you are not sure what your system is click HERE.

Speccy will open and after a short wait will display a summary of your system specs.
  1. Click on the file menu.
  2. Then click Publish snapshot.

Now that your link has been copied please paste it into your next post. It should look something like the example below:)

BTW: once you have finished with speccy and no longer want it removing it is easy because it is a portable app with no install. Simply delete the downloaded file and folder you created when you decompressed it. Gone:thumbsup:
