Lenovo V130-151KB Cannot Scroll Need Help Please

I have a lenovo laptop V130-151KB and I cannot for the life of me get the scroll function to work on the touchpad. I have tried updating all drivers from the lenovo driver support site. However, i still can't scroll?

My friend has exactly the same laptop and when we go in to the mouse settings to check his driver it says ' Elan Pointing device' 15/01/2018 version 22.4.3.1.

When I look at mine it says 'HD compliant mouse' Microsoft 21/06/2006 driver version 10.0.10240.16384 signed by microsoft windows

No matter what I do if I try to install the touchpad driver from lenovo site it does not overwrite the above driver.

Can anyone help me with this conundrum?

Is the mouse software listed in the Programs and Features list?

When you installed the software were there any error messages?

Go back into Device Manager and select View than Show Hidden Devices.
Look under Mice and other pointing devices is it listed now?

Nothing showing in Programs and Features unfortunately

No error messages after install

Shows HID - compliant mouse under my laptop and on my friends it shows ELAN pointing device

The file that you downloaded for the Lenovo site uncompressed into a directory then install or just installed from that file?
There may be a directory that is hidden that has the original drives for the system as well.

Have you looked at and read through this?

Have you tried the install from Safe Mode?

Have you tried logging in using a different account on the system to see if the same thing happens?

Have you tried running the System File Checker?
