While using my laptop my decided to check for any updates for drivers. Check found that some needed updating so i did. Saw that a reboot was needed to finish installing

Ok.

So i reboot. It shuts down but not completely. Stayed that way for a while while so i forced a shut down.

All is well it shuts down i boot it back, it loads, i log in which is when i hear my the fans kick up to max so i tried oppening task manager to see what was up.

That doesn't work. Notification comes ip that says : task manager not found in C:windows/system/?/only thing there is speech.

So i attempt a system restore. Doesn't work end up forcing a reboot. I login and the only thing i see is a black screen with the mouse.

Any advice?

I am considering using a spare h.d. booting from there and copying over important files and the reinstalling windows o. Main drive and bringing stuff back over

See if you are able to force the computer to start in the Windows Recovery Environment (RE) by starting up and shutting down the computer two or three times using the case power button, please note that you need to shut down the computer after the MBs splash screen and just before Windows attempts to load, if successful you should then continue to the Troubleshooting options and then hopefully be able to use a system restore point or Safe Mode etc.
