Solved Is my GPU dying

Recently for the past week or so my PC has been crashing games to desktop but only recent ones (Starfield, Remnant 2, Everspace 2, etc.). I can play games like Everspace or FC3 just fine but as soon as I try any of my new library they crash in a min or couple of seconds. The UE games show a 'DXGIERROR_ DEVICE HUNG' in the crash logs and with task manager open I can see the GPU spikes from like 30% usage to 100% during the freeze and subsequent crash. I looked online and apparently this is TDR or smth but does that mean that my GPU is dying?

I've removed the RAM and GPU, blown them off and reseated and everything is secure and plugged in. If it helps i recently upgraded my PSU, mobo and CPU, so my RAM and GPU is from my previous setup but it worked just fine there and I didn't drop or bend or otherwise damage them when moving over. Everything was working fine until last week when Starfield started crashing only a few seconds in game. looked it up and apparently it was an issue with the new update so I gave up but noted in the crash logs it referenced issues with the GPU too. I only really connected the two when Remnant and Everspace 2 crash within a minute of booting up (I can't even make a character in the former) and HSR now is freezing and crashing too despite working completely fine before. Now the PC is freezing as well a min or so after the game crashes.

Is there anything I can do or try? I don't have a spare graphics card to try and see if the RAM is acting up and my PSU is 850W so there should be more than enough power left over. I'm not overlocking GPU or CPU and its not factory overclocked. I have XMP turned on and Windows and GPU drivers are up to date. I can't think of anything else that might be relevant but if you need anything else please on. I'm at my wits end, I just wanna play silly games on my really expensive piece of silicon.

850W counts for nothing unless the PSU is a quality brand.

Can you post the brand and model name or number of the PSU.

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.
 
No worry about the delay in replying, we all have other things to attend to.

A good quality and adequately powered PSU.

What is the brand and model name or number of the RAM and which two slots on the board are you using.

And did so incorrectly Im afraid, see my canned explanation below;
Once Windows has been clean installed you must then install first the MBs chipset drivers then the storage/SATA drivers and third the graphics drivers, the drivers can either come from a disk provided by the motherboard manufacturer or downloaded from their site and saved to a flash drive etc, this is a must and Windows should not be allowed to check for updates before it has been done as more often than not Windows installs the wrong drivers or in the incorrect order and this can cause all sorts of problems.

The reason why this procedure is so important, the chipset is what enables the MB to be able to communicate with all the hardware + are the first drivers that Windows looks for on boot.
 
I'm using slots A2 and B2, and both RAM pairs are Corsair LPX Vengance 16gb (2x8) 3000 DDR4 but the new ones i bought say on the back ver 5.32 or smth and the old ones are ver 4.smth. I was looking around and apparently my mobo (Z690) has issues with XMP causing crashing so is there a thread for me to follow as a noob to properly set it up? And how should I go about installing those drivers?
edit: The pc seems more stable with just the two new RAM sticks but still does the GPU hang crashes, and I forgot to mention but apparent XMP plays up with the NVME as well? Both times my OS corrupted this week I had installed it on the NVME (970 evo plus)
 
I downloaded the intel driver support tool and it says I have upto date chipset drivers already and i did already install the GPU drivers so hopefully that wont cause an issue, are the SATA drivers included with the chipset or what the intel tool checks for?
 
The RAM speed is ok and the sticks are populating the correct two slots.

Did you perhaps misread the steps that I provided;

Speccy shows that Windows was allowed to update before any drivers had been installed and the drivers were not installed from disk or a USB device, had they of been you would be aware that Gigabyte provide the required Intel Rapid Storage Device drivers for the SATA ports.
 
Nothing to do with BIOS.

Save the drivers to your USB flashdrive.

Clean install Windows then immediately disconnect the computer from the Internet.

Insert the USB flashdrive.

Install the chipset drivers etc using the steps below which I have copy/paste from Microsoft;

Attach the USB device to your computer.

Open Device Manager to install the driver. Follow the instructions on the Update Driver Software wizard and choose manual installation. You will need to provide the location of the driver package folder to complete the installation.

The location of your driver package btw is your USB flashdrive.
 
Hi I had work this weekend so I wasn't able to do much but I saw that underclocking the GPU can fix nvlddmkm errors and lo and behold it did, so far the games that would crash in a min or so have run fine for more than 10 mins and whereas benchmarking was crashing now it is running well. Does the fact that I need to underclock to fix this issue indicate the card is dying? I never had to on my previous and as I said before, I even upgraded PSU
