Solved Installing Win10 to SSD

Hey y'all! Used to be a helper on this site around 9 years ago, glad to see it's still going strong :)

So I got a weird one. I have a tower I built back in 2015. Got a Seagate 1.5" 1TB HDD in it that I suspected to be failing (though now I'm unsure). So naturally, I bought a Seagate 1TB SSD, connected via SATA.

I'm booting to windows setup via a bootable USB.

I started by trying to manually partition the SSD to allow Windows to install. After proceeding, it just got stuck at Copying Windows files (0%) during setup, wouldn't progress. So after doing some research, there was one suggestion to allow Windows to auto partition the drives. So I opened a command prompt, used diskpart to select the SSD and clean it. Attempted to select the SSD during setup again and same problem.

I cleaned the hard drive which is still connected as well. There seemed to be a lot more immediate success with the hard drive during setup, though I'm still waiting for Windows to perform its first boot, it's sitting at the boot screen rn.

Any reason the SSD would run into issues, other than it might just be bust? Brand new, never been used.

Thanks!

By configuration do you mean specs?

At any rate it appears I've now successfully installed Win10 onto my SSD, I'm running memory diagnostics now, old HDD now no longer appears as a SATA device so I'm pretty sure it's just dead at this point, but I was able to accomplish installing Win10 so I guess this can be resolved ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thanks for the willingness to help at any rate :)
