I surface pro 8 and I need to reinstall windows 11 from a bootable USB drive. All I have is my Samsung a14. My question is can I make the bootable usb drive with my phone and then use my phone as the USB drive. If so how do I do it. I would really appreciate the help.

Your phone should have come with an OTG cable.
Do you have one and a usb flash drive 8GB or bigger.
Or a friend or Neighbour or relo with a pc ?
I don't but I'll get one tmmrw. I downloaded windows 11 from the bay and the file came with rufas I can use that to make the bootable usb drive once I get the otg cable and flash drive correct?

You don't need rufus use windows media creation tool.
Click on download now. (not iso)
Use the option on the tool to update/install on another computer.
You can use a cable or an adapter.
something like this https://www.samsung.com/au/support/mobile-devices/what-is-an-otg-on-the-go-cable/
or this

I am NOT saying to use either of these products. This is to give you an idea of what to look for in your local location.

Before doing any install, it is a good idea to go to the support page for your system. Download the drivers you are going to need i.e. chipset, sound, video, wireless, etc. Whilst Win10 has a lot of native drivers, Microsoft drivers are designed for ease of use and are NOT designed for any type of performance. Store these drivers on another usb or you can even just make a folder on your install usb when you are finished making the install usb. Copy the drivers into that folder.

When you are finished with the Windows install, then install your drivers.

  • Chipset or Motherboard
  • Sata or hard drive
  • Video adapter
  • Network interface card (NIC)
  • Audio
  • Touchpad
  • Any other hardware drivers needed for your particular model.
Reboot after installing the drivers

Sorry you cannot use the windows tool - not cross platform.
Before buying anything have a read of this

You would still need to buy an otg and a usb stick but make sure you are happy with this first

Ok I tried this on a samsung galaxy 7 phone.
Before it finished I ran out of battery. I had about 65% charge
So make sure your phone is 100% charged. Download the iso.
Recharge the phone again to 100% trun off everything not needed - bluetooth etc to save power.
