First idk if this is the right place for me to chat or anything but cant help to hope i can figure this out without replacing my graphics card.

My pc is around 6 months old and was bought from NZXT. its the Streamer Pro PC (im not a streamer but it had good specs.) within it there ios obviously a 3080 and i think it has broken, the connection has broken or the port connecting it to the motherboard is broken, i cant tell. i think it broke while sitting in the car on my way home from university. I didnt stuff with any foam or anything but did heavily surround with blankets and was careful to make sure it couldn't bounce around.

my issue: before travel i was able to play games at max setting with good performance, right now i can barely run games on low and after an hour or 2 experience lag and freezing. This is most of what i know, performance issues and is regularly reaching 80 degrees celcius while playing diablo 4 on low.

There is also an issue with connecting to me monitor. I have 2 4k monitors, 1 60hz, the other and main 144hz. the 60hz is connected with hdmi - hdmi, while the main 144hz was previously digital - hdmi as the 3080 has 1 hdmi and 3 digital. When plugging in the 144hz as digital - hdmi nothing appears or has many graphics errors. When i swap the 60hz monitors cable so its hdmi - hdmi it works but more graphical glitches. Right now its connected through digital - digital with no prominant issues except randomly during high performance games the screen go's black for a second.

This is most of the information i have with the exception that i am also unable to access my bios, but i have never been able to since purchace so my ram is capped at 1200hz 16GB, out of 3200hz.

Can you post the brand and model name or number of the power supply (PSU).

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

I dont know what power supply i have and i can't open the area on my case to access it. the page i bought the pc from on NZXT's website is also removed as they have releaced new pc's. doing a search "750W Bronze" is the closest i found but i'm fairly sure it isn't mine as mine has the button for "Zero RPM fan mode" while this one doesnt.
My speccy results are : http://speccy.piriform.com/results/DfIZI6yZAfTBfNfba7UwCd6

i've posted the speccy but idk what my powersupply is and i can't easily access the powersupply or specs where i bought it from

Has anyone else messed with this PC since you took delivery of it, reason I ask is because it is a bit of a mess, the initial set up is wrong, the wrong RAM has been used, you have one of the worst AVs going when it comes to slowing down a computer and atop of that you are using a wireless connection which sucks when it comes to online gaming.

The good news is that there is nothing to suggest that your GPU is faulty.

Bronze efficiency rated PSUs should never be used in high end gaming rigs like yours, any PSU must be a minimum of Gold efficiency rated an from a proven brand such as the Corsair RM range, EVGA or Seasonic.

Can you post the exact model name or number of this computer.

i swapped out my RAM as my 16gb 3200hz wasn't able to do gaming, discord and google open as it was at 90-100% useage with just those 3 + background apps. so i got a 32gb 3400 hz to try counter act me not having access to my BIOS and enabling XMP. wireless connection seems fine, getting 200mb download and thats more than enough for gaming. as for the other issues idk. i was just sent the pc from NZXT after buying from their website. I will try to access the powersupply and see what it is.

My PSU is a C750 from NZXT. The pc's model is "Streamer Pro PC", thats the only name i know it by and was named that on their website and the email confirmation i got before it was removed from their website. if my GPU was faulty would it show up in that analysis? it regularly hits 80c in diablo 4 on low settings and every other game i play i'm having to run at lower settings than before the move.

Can I ask that you do not quote every reply as we have to read the full post to make sure nothing gets missed,, thanks.

The RAM is not appropriate for your CPU, AMD state here up to 3200MHz and if you were to have XMP enabled the RAM will get auto OCd past what the CPU can handle and the PC fall over.

NZXT cheaped out on the PSU as you 100% need a Gold efficiency rated PSU for a gaming rig, a weak PSU will get hot inside and any GPU will likewise get hot if not powered correctly Which power supply do you need?

Who installed Windows 11 on this computer.

Is Norton the free version or paid for.

Not around until after work tomorrow now so no rush getting back to us.

sorry about that, just anxious as its quite a new pc and am also new to forums...

Update: I have swapped back my RAM to the 16gb 3200hz and have managed to gain access to my bios and activate XMP so its speed is solidly at 3200hz.
Playing diablo + discord + opera still has it around 85-99% usage and discord sometimes crashes or my entire pc freezes.

My friend who has the same RAM (not exact same but same specs) and a 3060 is running the same applications but is at 79% RAM usage and 90% GPU at 60c. While i am at 85-99% RAM and 96-100% GPU at 78-80c.

I dont know if that information is helpful but thought id say it.

NZXT installed windows as when it arrived it was already installed. Norton is the paid for version but isnt the super version or anything.

Just to say again, i didnt have these issues of performance as prominent before the move but would ocasionally get discord or pc crashes (eg. while playing world of warships on max setting and having my friends screenshare up of him playing, his screen would be incredibly laggy or discord crashed every few minues. I turned my settings to low and it fixed both issues to an extent. My friend however was doing the same, game + share screen on max with his 3060 and didnt have these issues.

Is their a way for me to tell if my power supply isn't providint enough power? Its 750 wats but is apparently rated gold.

Not to turn you away from PCHF support, but you could reach out to NZXT Support and see what they say about the pre build. According to their site, they have a 2 year warranty on their pre-builds and seeing as your up to the 6 month mark already, you only have 1 and a half years left.

If you have a Nvidia card, I have seen some cards that do go bad and usually you can get a replacement for them if they are still covered under warranty. I currently have a 2080 and contact Nvidia about the High temps and there support team told me the below. For a Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080
The Graphic card temperature is between 50-84 Degree C and 88 Degree C is the safe Maximum temperature your Graphic card can reach upto.
While playing the new Diablo 4 in closed beta and now with the game released, I hit close to 80-82 Degrees C. Which tells me I better upgrade before the new City Skyline 2 release.

For any possible damage while traveling, have you inspected your motherboard for any visible signs of cracks? Paying attention around the PCIe slots?
You can also look around your graphics card to see if there are any signs as well, if you are worried about damage to either the card or the board.

Submitting a case to NZXT and your graphics card manufacture would help with determining the safe operating temps from the company that made the card and if there was a fault either with the pre build or the card, you may be able to get the repairs covered under warranty.
There are a few tools they might have you download to determine voltage to your card, stress testing, and stability testing of your card as well.

I hope you get it all figured out.

i have been in contact about getting my RAM speed increased and am planning to contact them about performance in a day or 2 depending on how it looks through the forum. I've physically checked but see no damage on the outside but who knows if a small wire got lose or somethin.

Forget about comparing anyone else's PC to yours unless the PC has the same spec, has the same software installed and has the same internet connection, there are too many variables involved.

The PC was not correctly set up from the get go, see my canned explanation below

Once Windows has been clean installed you must then install first the MBs chipset drivers, then the storage/SATA drivers and third the graphics drivers, the drivers can either come from a disk provided by the motherboard manufacturer ** or downloaded from their site and saved to a flash drive etc, this is a must and Windows should not be allowed to check for updates before it has been done as more often than not Windows installs the wrong drivers or in the incorrect order and this can cause all sorts of problems.

We can see from Speccy that the driver installation was done wrong, it screams of the work of an amateur tbh.

The common denominator here is that an internet connection is required for everything that you mention above, Norton is a resource hog, it messes with the internet connection and why on earth people pay for it when they don't need it is beyond me.

Just to reiterate, there is zero wrong with your GPU, get rid of Norton as explained below then post back and we will help you test your GPU.

Windows 8, 8.1, 10 and 11 come with an improved Windows Defender, it offers the same real-time anti-virus/anti-malware protection as Microsoft Security Essentials. Windows Defender also shares the same malware signature definitions as Microsoft Security Essentials, and Forefront Endpoint Protection. Technically, Microsoft Security Essentials has not been renamed Windows Defender, or combined with it in Windows 8, 8.1, 10 and 11.

If any AV product that you have is a paid for version you should always make sure that you have a copy of the product key kept somewhere safe just in case you ever wish to reinstall it.

Norton uninstall info here

Once Norton has been correctly uninstalled, check to see if Windows Defender has auto enabled and allow it to update and carry out a full scan of your computer.

Once done, restart, test by using the computer as you normally would, post back with an update when you are ready.

Your PSU having eco mode does suggest it is Gold, the NZXT homepage is less than helpful in confirming this though.

i hope this is fine for me to do the reply this time. I will have to wait till monday before i can do proper test and do the changes. hope its fine to wait till then...

Sorry about replying, thought that since i was replying to your message and nothing directly about the case clicking the reply button would have been appropriate, that how i use reply features on other platforms at least.

So i've uninstalled norton and using windows defender, i only had that because my mom bought a one time purchace for 10 devices ages ago and thought i might as well put it on here.

I have not noticed any performance changes. Diablo 4 still lags, and if i have a video playing on my other screen then it is either laggy or when i click on the other screen everything freezes for a few seconds. Would my pc having not been set up correctly by NZXT make a difference in performance. Other games as well arn't performing amazingly either, Diablo is just the easiest to get results from.

You should only ever have the one screen hooked up while you are troubleshooting as it not only reduces the load on the hardware but also removes a potential cause of the problem as in the second screen or video cable causing the problem.

Norton being uninstalled does not remove the fact that your internet connection could be involved as was stated in my reply #11;

The common denominator here is that an internet connection is required for everything that you mention

Can you disconnect the additional screen, do a bit of testing, run Speccy then post the new url and advise as to whether or not removing the second screen helped any.

Regarding the incorrect driver installation, it can`t be ruled in or out but it is just plain wrong and done so badly in fact that you would have to say that whoever installed Windows on this computer did not have a clue what they were doing.

So unplugging the second monitor did help overall. The game for the first 30 mins ran smooth but like before, after an hour or so it started to get some lag. They where no where near as bad and where less frequent but was still laggy at times after the 1 hour mark.

can i also get a recommendation for a VPN, i mostly used Norton for the VPN and internet is less than helpful since its mostly paid ad's recommending stuff. preferably free or if anyone knows if opera GX's VPN is good.

Some good news at least but i`m afraid that you still have Norton installed and running while Defender is which is real bad.

i can try doing some things to remove norton but i already went through that thing that uninstalls it and deleted any files on my pc, it just re-installs itself.

As for VPN, i would like one to have for 'guy things' and things like steamunlocked but if you havn't got any recommendations then i can just search around.

What would be the next step for testing my pc? can a 3080 just not work with 2, 4k monitors?

You 100% need to get rid of Norton and no way should it be reinstalling itself.

Whatever you do, do not install any VPN while you are troubleshooting.

We need to see a Speccy url that does not show Norton still on the computer, see suggested solution on Norton forum here

so i can't get rid of norton. I've done everything the forum recommends, turn off windows fast startup, use the tool to both fix and remove, check windows schedular and check the temp file. I also searched my entire c drive with anything called norton and there is nothing on my pc.. but it still shows on the speccy.

do i need to get rid of it? i dont even know how at this point, what issues could their be any why is it needing to be removed to troubleshoot?
