As the title says, PC was blackscreening decided to take everything out, this solved the issue however it was only picking up my SSD, changed SATA cables and now detects my HDD however will not boot past BIOS, I also can not open bios by pressing the keys for it however I have to wait 5 mins usually for it to open itself, any help would be greatly appreciated as I need my PC to work from home, thank you.

Solved HHD detected however boots into bios

Is the OS installed on the SSD or was it on the drive that was replaced?
Check the boot order to make sure that it is reporting the correct drive for the OS.

Thank you for your reply Rusty, I have windows installed into the HDD That is in currently, all I did was switch the SATA cables between the SSD and HDD, when I go into the bios it shows that the HDD (Toshiba DT) is selected for boot priority. The HDD is currently the only drive connected.

Windows 10, 64 I believe sorry it’s been a while since I installed, desktop environment is standard desk with pc next to monitor and no messages, no beeps
I just boot up the PC, stays on ASUS ROG logo for about 5 Minutes then puts me into the UEFI BIOS, I can not open this myself for some reason and that’s about it, I’m incredibly lost what to do.

For the install media if needed.
Follow the steps below and see if it helps:
1. Insert the installation disc or USB flash drive, and then restart your computer.
2. Press any key when prompted to do so, and then follow any instructions that appear.
3. When the Install Windows page appears, click Install now to begin the installation process or click Repair your computer to access system recovery options.
4. Click on “Repair your computer” from the lower left corner.
5. From the “Choose an option screen”, click on “Troubleshoot”.
6. Click “Advanced Options” in the “Troubleshoot” screen.
7. In the “Advanced Options “click command prompt.
8. Then enter the chkdsk command chkdsk c: /f/r and press enter
Important: While performing chkdsk on the hard drive if any bad sectors are found on the hard drive when chkdsk tries to repair that sector if any data available on that might be lost.

Sorry for the late reply, was midnight and gave up for the day.
So about 6 years old but I’ve upgraded parts through the years, never had an issue. Nothing was happening prior to this issue.
I believe Windows 10 is either on the motherboard or somewhere in the house (sorry my brother set the PC up sometime a go so I’ll have to ask him)
Whilst he is available do you recommend I test the HDD on another PC?

With some of the drive being 6 years old then there is a possibility that it has failed.
Be aware that it WILL WIPE the thumb drive.
Without knowing if it is an EIDE or SATA connection.
Do not worry about that fully get the time difference.
If you have a 16 GB or larger thumb drive, you can create the install media using the link above.

As a USB drive yes with it being and older drive a different system may not have the connection needed.

Hello guys I want to say thank you very much for the advice given, with this I managed to work out the hard drive had sadly died, it’s severed we well for 8 years and after the 31015 turn on it finally gave way.
If anyone else is suffering my issue then it might be the same fault I have found, I downloaded windows media creation tool onto a flash drive, out the flash drive and ssd back in and the PC is back up and running. Thank you very much for all the advice, means a lot!
