So I made sure my motherboard and PS was compatible, and it is. I literally took the 5600XT out, and put the 3090 into the same port. ONLY difference I can see if the pins on the cables from the PS. The 5600 had an 8 pin and 6 pin, the 3090 has slots for 3 8 pins? (i believe. Im a noob, and didnt even build the pc to begin with lol.) Anyone have any advice as to why absolutely no display. And yes i tried the other hdmi and dp ports. Thanks in advance.

Is there power plugged into the three 8 pin connectors?

What is the make/model/Capacity of your PSU?

Once we figure the above out, we can move forward.
Yes so my PSU is Corsair HX1200.
Bc I am new to all of this I didnt want to remove/change ANYTHING other than the GPU, so I used the same pin connectors that was plugged into the 5600XT.
1 8 pin
AND
1 6 pin.

Which 3090 do you have? One version requires two 6+2 pin plugs and another requires three 6+2 pin plugs.

This is more than likely your issue.

This is your PSU.

The proper plugs should have come with it. If you are not comfortable moving things around, find a tech savy friend.

Sheesh yeah I figured when I noticed the difference. Weird that it powers up though no? and the fans spin and all that?
Um when you say which one (i didnt even know there were 2 lol)
Im guessing its just the RTX 3090....idk if thats sufficient enough lol
That being said, i have to rewire then? I knew it would be above me expertise or in this case NOOBINESS

It's fairly easy. Just match up the shapes. If you look closely at the wire ends coming from the PSU, they probably will separate to be a 2 +6 Pin Male plug. If they are together, just plug them in the sockets shown in the pic. They only go one way. Some of the pin holders are different shapes to aid in this.
I have to add and I'm sure you already know. Unplug the power from the wall/mains before taking on this task.
