Hard disk error

Hello, I bought seagate barracuda 1tb on the internet store (lazada.ph) then it arrived today, I installed some drivers and softwares everything went just okay... then I plugged in my external hard drive to install my back up games from steam and copying some movies from the backup drive to the internal hard drive and suddenly, when its copying the copy speed is becoming 0 and the pc is freezing for a sec and after that the pc is normal again. But, after I restarted it, windows is fixing my hard drive and says that there is a “hard disk error” after that, after diagnosting I can’t login from my computer because it’s freezing in the log in screen I entered my pin its supposed to be 6 but I just typed 4 and it freezes and its resets I just cant log in until now. Please help thank you and good day!

Hello

What else did you install prior to you installing those drivers and the software?

Hopefully more of our members will chime in soon.

@phillpower2
Nothing sir, just my vcard driver, discord and steam. Im installing a 64gb game from the back up drive but all of the programs is not responding and the pc is freezing thats why I restarted it. Btw, before I restarted the pc, it’s just happening when Im plugging in the external hard drive but I think that there is no problem with my external because I used it to backup my movies and games from my old hard drive and it’s doing well...

so the PC was going fine with the new drive UNTIL you plugged in that external drive?

and if you unplug and reboot, does the PC function normally?
how certain are you there are no gremlins on the external?
if you have another PC, plug that external into it for scanning and to see if anything on that PC goes pear-shaped.
of course, it could be just as likely that your new drive is DOA and you should return it.

In addition to the above;

I bought seagate barracuda 1tb on the internet store (lazada.ph) then it arrived today, I installed some drivers and softwares everything went just okay..
What did you do with the original HDD as in did you remove it and keep it somewhere safe etc.

If you still have the previous HDD with Windows etc still on it, try swapping that back in and without reconnecting the external HDD see how that goes.
