Solved GPU artifacts

My newly built PC is showing small green horizontal dashes all over the screen, this started right after I put the resolution to full HD. I know that the cause of this is probably my GPU, is there a way to fix it? :(

Welcome to PCHF JBlue,

Have you tried restoring the original settings or starting the computer in Safe Mode only (no networking) to see if the issue is still present.

Please provide information about your computer, post the brand and model name or number for the MB, the RAM (including the amount) add on video card if one is used and the PSU (power supply unit) providing these details will enable us to better assist you.

no, i was actually just too lazy to get all the specs. I built the gpu into another pc which had the same artifacts. We just sent back the gpu to get a new one because it seemingly arrived broken, but thanks for your help :)
