Solved Fried RAM or GPU? Help!!!

okay so a little backstory to get everyone up to speed. My computer started to randomly freeze and make this buzzing noise in my headphones then restart after I would launch some games. Not doing anything “intensive” would not make this happen. I looked up the issue and I saw a suggestion to take out and clean the RAM and GPU. I wish I used best practice and did one at a time but I took them both out and reseated them.

Since cleaning them, my monitors come up with no signal. My keyboard and mouse don’t light up as if they are not connecting. I knew it’s neither the mouse/keyboard or monitors but to double check I tested them on other devices and they work as they did before I took apart the machine.

When I turn it on I don’t get any beep codes.

I guess one other thing worth mentioning in case this could impact it. I put the RAM in backwards at first and it would turn on for about a second then shut off then turn on and shut off so I flipped the RAM and back to normal boot up.

So do you think because of the keyboard and mouse not being detected it could be the best case of bad RAM? Or is it possible I damaged my graphics card.

Did you earth yourself before opening the case & touching the MB/graphics card?
Does the pc turn on? Have you ensured the cables are fully inserted?
With what did you clean the components?
I’d say you may have damaged the graphics card.

I think I earthed myself. I don't have a anti static mat or anything but I was in a non carpeted area and held the outside of the computer for a minute or so.

The PC does turn on with no beep codes. However as mentioned my mouse and keyboard no longer light up nor do my monitors detect anything.

I used canned air to just clean the slots and hardware.

I was hoping it was the RAM and not graphics card but assumed it could very well be the graphics card :/ . Its not an old graphics card either, its a 2070 Super. Well not super old that is.

Usually you touch a metal object (radiator etc) rather than the pc itself or use a specific anti static wristband connected to something metallic.

have you tried all the USB ports?
Have you tried reinstalling the USB drivers?

No I have not tried all of the USB ports for the mouse and keyboard but I can't do anything about the drivers without my monitors being detected.

I have two monitors. One DVI the other VGA to HDMI connector. Neither the HDMI or DVI slot seems to be working.

The monitors work though because I plugged them into my laptop.

Do you know if this sounds like a GPU issue or a RAM issue? OR something completely different.

I would assume the computer would not post at all or with beep codes if the GPU was fried. Is that the same with the RAM?

Also I did try to reset the CMOS battery as well but to no avail.

Reseat all the cables (power and data)
Reset the power to the display card.

When working in computers even the slightest bump could have dislodged a cable enough.

What CPU do you have?
List any other hardware that is in including Malke and Models plus the PSU.

Make sure that you are connected to the GPU and not the motherboard.

I reseated all of the wires except to the data. I will try that too.

CPU : Intel Core I7-9700F
RAM: 1 stick of DDR4
Graphics card : NVIDIA GeForce RTX2070S 8GB
HDD 1 TB
SSD 512GB

As to put it back in the proper slots, I've tried both of the RAM Slots at this point but to no avail.

As mentioned the computer Post and lights up and sounds as it normally does when functioning just no power to keyboard/mouse and no display detection.

You are seeing the post information on the screen?

You have also checked the cable that goes into the monitor?

what is the make and model of the motherboard?
most motherboards do not come with onboard speakers have to purchase them separately. which may explain why you are not hearing the beeps.

Have you tried staring the system in safe mode?

Sorry the motherboard is ASUS G15CS

Also I used the terminology for POST incorrectly. I mean it starts up with all its fans and lights. I don't see anything on the screens at all.

When I plug my headphones in I don't hear any beeps or it make the startup sound I don't think any sound is coming out at all.

In regards to the cable for the monitor. I have tested the monitors on my laptop and they work.

When I plug into the HDMI slot the light will go from yellow to blue. In the top corner it will say VGA, the HDMI, then go to no signal and the power light on the monitor goes back to yellow.

Is it possible this is RAM related given the original issue as to why I took out the RAM to begin with? When I would do something like play a game it would randomly freeze and give me a buzzing sound in my headphones and automatically restart on me. I did keep my eye on the GPU temperature before it froze and restarted and it was not overheating or anything. It was staying between 45-55 degrees.

Still got no PSU information.
