Solved FPS problems

Ugh. I guess my last post didn’t post in here. I apologize.

So after resetting Bios settings, and changing the performance to balanced, I was able to obtain 100-115 frames.
I then set my D_Ram speed to 3600Mhz and XMP on and it boosted me up to 150-160 frames, but the game would crash every time. So then I set my Ram speed to 3200MHz and I’m running anywhere between 125-140.

I think we Deff fixed the issue, although I am unsure what caused it. I was using ultimate performance setting for windows, but I have always ran it that way. I don’t know why adding two more sticks of Ram caused it to behave that way.

I think now I can focus on Tuneing the CPU. But I have no idea what I’m doing. I’ve tried to read about it. But which no luck in the past.

Really? I don’t know much about it, but I’ve heard between setting up the CPU and overclocking with a decent water cooler is the way to go. But I’m more than willing to listening to the people who know better on here. Lol. Don’t want to fry somthin.

My friend ordered one Corsair h115 water cooler “open box special” and they ended up sending him a whole case of coolers all new. So he’s giving me one. Lol. Talk about a lucky score.

Apologies, had the day off of PCHF. :)

Custom power plans can be a good thing, but sometimes they can over stress/work components and cause instability, same with XMP, it is "technically" a form of overclocking.

If it works at 3200MHz, I would just take the win and see if anything else is having troubles (that's when I would starting questioning and changing more).

As Peter said, make sure you use the proper amount of thermal compound, it's pretty hard to mess up, but a small pea sized drop in the middle or a thin x will do you fine.

If you are seeing temps of 70( (C?) I would be nowhere near concerned, if you're not overclocked the stock coolers generally hold up well enough (Not as good as a nice BeQuiet! or Noctua cooler though, these are excellent units!)

No apologies needed. I really appreciate the help you guys have given me. I have called computer stores asking for help Tuneing and even offering to pay to bring the unit in to let them tune it. But could never get a reply. So this was a big win and am going to refer everyone I know from here on out to this forum.

I’ve got to check it again, (it could have been the servers) but I noticed last night while playing that I started off strong in the 115-130fps area, but after about 3-4 hrs of gameing I was struggling to hit 100fps. I didn’t get to try a system restar to see if that would fix it last night due to it being late. But I’m going to check today and see if it happens again. Fingers crossed that it was just some crappy lobby’s.

It's possible, sometimes bad servers/internet can cause a variety of problems, good call on the restart!

Generally I see thermal issues above the high 70s (Celsius) and into mid 80s or so, if you keep an eye on your temps and they stay in the 60s and mid 70s I wouldn't be concerned.

It could also be dependent on maps, the map with a lot more trees will bring your frames down more than a bland desert with nothing in it, pay attention to the drops and where you are.

I don't know if I would be concerned about 15-30 fps, again, thermal throttling is usually quite apparent, but taking a look won't hurt you as long as you keep an objective mindset.

I'm glad you got it sorted out, the people here are great and have a wide variety of skill-sets and knowledge to share!

I have noticed that where I am in the map makes a difference, and I try to keep that in mind. I just get frustrated when my friend who doesn’t have the set up i do is running many more FPS than I do. I’m trying so hard to read and watch as much stuff as I can to learn how to tune and tweak this thing. But in true PC fashion, every time I think I’m getting ahead, somthing els pops up. Lol. But I’m stubborn and I’m sure this blind squirrel will find it’s nut. Hahaha.

Are you versed in GPU clocking? If so what do you suggest for overclocking? And is there a good video or artical to read on how to do it? I feel like that may be my resolve for my FPS not being stable.

After playing again tonight, I started off strong in the 130FPS range and after about an hr I was struggling to get 105 spending most of my time in the 80-90 range. I can’t for the life of me figure out why.

**Edit** Disregard this, I found the download.

Thank you i must have skipped right over this. I am doing the suggest3ed actions now. i am at the point where im trying to download easy service optimizer and am having issues finding the download link on the provided web page. I see the option to download the Wave Browser. Is this correct? I am not seeing the Easy Service Optimizer option.
