Did you happen to read my reply #20 at all!

From my reply #5;
Not a good choice of PSU for a high end build such as yours, the CX is the budget range of Corsair that are intended for office or school type computers that either use onboard graphics or only the most basic of video cards, a Gold efficiency rated PSU from a quality brand is a must for gaming rigs, the CX also has a bad failure rate, page one of the reviews here is full of complaints.
I really would not recommend replacing the GPU with something so high end without also upgrading the PSU to a quality brand and model Gold efficiency rated unit, if the new GPU works while the Corsair CX750M is still present, count your blessings and then hold off using the computer until you have swapped in a better PSU, if money is not a problem or you got the replacement card at a knock down price fine, if cash is tight I would have gone for a slightly less expensive card + a better PSU to power it and definitely something with a ten year warranty like the Seasonic here

I have been looking at a few psu will order one today took the pc to a pc shop the other day to prove the card was dead powered it up last night worked fine do you think a 750w or 1000w?

For clarity, are you saying that your previous GPU was confirmed as being dead by a local tech and you tried you new GPU with the Corsair CX750M last night and everything worked as it should.

As an asides Tomp2009, it would be nice if you acknowledged any questions or suggestions that had previously been made, not doing so gives the impression that you are not particularly interested in what we have to say, our help and time are given for free and all we ask for in return is a bit of courtesy and feedback to any questions that are asked, forums are for learning and sharing knowledge so anything you post could be of help to others, take the info about the thermal compound on the GPU in my reply #20 for example, do you not find it suspicious that the thermal compound was such a mess, I would be and i would want some answers + cash back from where I had purchased the computer as well.

Fwiw, a PSU was previously recommended in my reply #23 ;)

Sorry if it came across like that I took your advice took the pc to a tech person the gpu had 4 screws in and had more than likely had problems before I had bought the pc just one of them things when you buy second hand I suppose I am looking on a psu as you recommend just hard getting hold of one now with the whole country on lockdown thanks for all your help it's been really appreciated

No worries but when assistance looks like being one way traffic it is annoying, as said previously any feedback good or bad is helpful, if folk don`t acknowledge what has been advised we have no way of knowing if they have taken the information onboard, not fun when that happens as they always look for someone to blame when things go wrong their end :eek:

The 650W Seasonic at my earlier link is all that you need for your present build but if you plan on adding more drives or RGB lighting you need to step up to at least 750W, you can get a price for that at the same link as the 650W, you are talking a fair bit more but it is worth it to protect your rather expensive build, an alternative 750W PSU is the Corsair here
