I am setting up a new Acer Aspire computer. First I changed back to Windows 10, the computer had Windows 11. All went OK . Buy now I am having trouble with the DVD /CD drive.
I went into AUTO PLAY, and set everything to "ASK ME EVERY TIME." Like I had done several times in the past when setting up a new computer. Well nothing happened when I put a DVD program or even an audio disc in the tray. I checked DEVICE MANAGER, and it told me the device was working properly. I even had the computer search for a better drive. No luck. The DVD rom did not even show up in File Explorer. I then went back into the AUTOPLAY section, and set most items to OPEN FOLDER to view, or the music ones I set to PLAY WITH WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER. Now if I put a music disc in the player, it shows up in FILE MANAGER, and I can open it from there. Why is the choice of ASK ME EVERYTIME npt working ? Thanks, Mike
