Hello Everyone.

I am very frustrated. I bought a new laptop last August, and Dell's migration software didn't work. So their customer support strung me along for EIGHT MONTHS. Accomplishing absolutely nothing but wasting days of my time. Eventually I bought an external hardrive and a 3rd party software to try to clone it myself. Because **** that. Well just then my audio drivers crashed, or something happened to my speakers. So I contact Windows support, who promptly reinstall my OS, and manage to brick my ****ing PC!!!!!

So the windows guy after asking if I need any more assistance (!) tells me I should try Best Buy. I go to Best Buy, and they don't do what I ask or what they said, but they did manage to make a 'backup' from the crashed computer to the new computer. It's just a folder with one or two hundred GB of data on my desktop. How can I restore/clone my old laptop from this backup? I would like to keep as much as possible: format, shortcuts, settings, etc. What is the most efficient way to restore my computer from this? Also, if anybody knows someone smarter than Best Buy who might be able to fix my other computer, I would appreciate it.

It has now been over a year that I bought this laptop (paperweight) that has sat there gathering dust while I get jerked around and ****ed over by Dell and Microsoft. I have dropped two grand to have my main computer crashed. I need help or advice, I am at the end of my sanity.

We understand your frustration Musicman but we are a family orientated site so can you cut out the cursing please.
