CPU usage

hi guys,

recently using Everest(home edition) found out core 1 sits constantly at 0%,while the other 3 cores are working fine. The processor is quad core AMD A10-5750M APU with Radeon HD Graphics. The laptop itself works fine,but that bugs me hence seeking advice. Is it normal the first core to be at 0%...if any,shouldn't that be core 4? Does that mean core 1 has stopped working?

Last week one of my RAM memory sticks stopped working. Not sure if that has any connection at all with the CPU ,but as a non tech person could assume not working core could increase the usage of RAM memory,or maybe just splits between the other 3 cores.

Thanks in advance

Hello skefko,

To add to what Malnutrition has suggested above;
It is completely normal for one or more cores to sit at 0%, it depends on what sort of load the computer is under and even when gaming it is not unusual for the fourth core on a quad core CPU to be sat at 0%, again it would depend on what game was being played.

If you would like to check that all four cores are functional download and run the IntelBurnTest from here (also works with AMD CPUs) please be sure to read Readme info at the link.
