Hi
whenever i turn on my pc, my monitor gets no display the EZ cpu debug light turns on, all my fans start as well with rgb. my pc how we doesn’t post and i don’t know what to do. the weird thing is, it sometimes posts if i leave my pc for a while then i can play on it and stuff but then the next morning it just won’t work again. has anyone got any suggestions !

Sorry but even with the best will in the world no one can help you without knowing anything about your computer, is it a custom build or brand name such as Dell or HP, if a brand name, provide the model name or series number (not serial) if a custom build post the brand and model name or number for the CPU, MB, the RAM (including the amount) add on video card if one is used and the PSU (power supply unit) providing these details will enable folk to better assist you.

hi it’s a custom built by me, my first one
ryzen 5 3600 (stock wraith cooler)
msi b450m mortar max
16gb corsair vengeance 3600mhz
600w be quiet system power 9
zotac gtx 1660
240gb ssd

The start up behaviour that you describe can often be caused by something not being seated correctly such as a RAM stick or the GPU or alternatively residual charge being left in the capacitors from a flaky PSU.

The CPU debug LED suggests something else is going on other than the start up problem.

Is or was the PSU out of the box new for this build.

Is the computer working at this time.

Are you overclocking anything.

hi,
i had a medioka psu before and i thought to solve this problem i should buy a new one. my current psu is only a few days old and was brand new. the computer still isn’t working. i haven’t overclocked anything the only thing i have done in the bios is set my ram up from 2113 to 3446 as my speed is 3600 but my motherboard doesn’t support that so i went down to the closest one it does support. Also i’ll add that sometime the cpu fan spins really really fast and is quite loud. not sure why just thought it could maybe be useful ? i’ll reseat my ram sticks and gpu.

Whoa that is not how things are meant to work, you have overclocked things and to the point that you have made the system unstable, you need to hope that you have not done any long term damage.

It is your CPU that you need to keep happy when it comes to the speed of the RAM and your CPU works best with 3200MHz RAM, see specs here

You need to go back to the basics and then go from there.

Try restoring the MBs default factory settings in the BIOS, they are sometimes listed as one of the following " factory defaults" "most stable" or on newer boards "optimized" please note that if you have both the "most stable" and the "optimized" options in the BIOS you should choose the most stable" option as in this instance the "optimized" settings are a form of overclocking that can cause instability.

Once you have done the above, restart the computer and get back to us.

The BIOS is accessed pre boot so the answer to your question would be no, the power on self test (POST) is what is causing you problems as the RAM speed is set too high for the CPU and the BIOS is detecting this and does not like it.

Can I ask that you avoid adding multiple replies and instead give us a chance to reply to you first.

Remove the CMOS battery from the MB to clear the present BIOS settings, you must follow the exact safety steps below;

The following checks require the computer case to be opened so take the following safety precautions 1st, disconnect the power cord from the wall socket, press the case power button for twenty seconds or so to get rid of any residual charge in the system, take anti static precautions before touching anything inside, you can do this by touching a bare metal part of the case or PSU or if a notebook by touching a household radiator or associated copper feed pipe.

See info in the attachment below;

Once the above has been done, reassemble, see if the computer will boot into Windows then post back with an update for us.

If you followed all of the steps to the letter there could be hardware damage involved.

Did you also reseat the RAM and the GPU.

Is your monitor actually displaying a "No Signal" message on it or is it staying black.

i’ve reseated ram and gpu. monitor says no signal.

monitor stays black sorry, when i turn it on it says no signal but if i leave it on idle and then turn my pc on. usually it will turn and there on but now it does just stay black

If the monitor says no signal it means that the monitor is detecting that a video cable is attached but there is no video signal being received, this means there is a problem with the computer hardware.

If the screen does not show a no signal at all it means that the screen has the problem

If the PC has a problem and the screen is ok you will get the no signal message when you first turn on the PC and then the screen will go black as it will put itself in stand by when it does not get any video signal.

All you can do atm is disconnect the PC from the wall socket, press the case power button to get rid of any residual charge in the system then leave the PC overnight, I won`t be around until after work tomorrow 17.30pm UK time so leave it until then if you can, at this point plug the computer back in, power up and see if you are able to access the BIOS, if yes, leave it there and post back here to let us know.

No problem and whatever you do, don`t be tempted to start tinkering, leaving the PC disconnected from the wall socket is to drain any charge in the system and clear the present CMOS settings that have the RAM speed set too high.

Remove the CMOS battery from the MB and leave that out until tomorrow as well.
