Chosing the right laptop charger

Hello! My laptop charger seems to not work, so I have to get a new one. As far as I know the voltage should match(mine is 19.5) and the amperage should be wqual or greater to the required. My laptop has a sticker on that says 19.5V 2.31A/19.5V 3.33A. Is that some sort of amperage limit? My old charger was a 19.5V 2.31A 45W charger. I dont unerstand what is the 3.33A indication on the sticker.

From the voltage/amperage you posted that's most likely a HP Notebook.
19.5 x 2.33=45W
19.5 x 3.33=65W

More Voltage will damage and/or burn the Notebook (adjustable AC Adapters claim that 20V ought to be OK)
Less Amperage will burn and/or damage the AC Adapter.

Even though the 45W was the one that came with the system, I'd take the 65W.

We always use those at work for testing a 2.33 V. system
Doesn't get so warm..
