Hi
Whatever your politics may be, I hope you will accept this as a serious cry for help.
I'm working with a Corbyn Support Group and there is a site we need to access for snippets of info, breaking news, etc.
Whenever I click on a link for the site, this is what I get:
This site can’t provide a secure connection
www.thecanary.co uses an unsupported protocol.

ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH

The client and server don't support a common SSL protocol version or cipher suite. This is likely to be caused when the server needs RC4, which is no longer considered secure.

I have no idea what any of this means! Others in the group assure me that they are able to access both this website and its FaceBook page - which also comes up for me as 'Not Available.

Please help!

You failed to mention what version of Windows and what browser you are using. Have you tried a different browser? If so, which one and what were the results.

Sorry. Stupid of me. I am an unreconstructed XP Pro user with a Google Chrome browser. I might add that until this week, I have been able to access the site with no trouble

I don't run XP on the internet so I have no need of a browser.

You do realize that there are now some NSA exploits revealed that you can not protect yourself against on XP and Vista.
Since the April 7 ShadowBrokers leak, hackers have been downloading and using the NSA exploits to attack exposed computers.

Take your point, plodr, but XP is my OS of choice and until Microsoft come up with a better alternative, I shall continue to use it. OK. This browser issue. Tried Avant - but it won't work. Have now installed Opera 36 and all is good, I'm pleased to say. Thank you for your time and your interest. Please mark this thread as complete
