I'm trying to go to my control panel but I can't access it, I get this message

I was having a problem running a code compiler code and what I found was I couldn't run it from a carpet containing a space I went and looked and the route to that file and the only folder I saw with an space was my computer's user account name, and I figure I couldn't just rename my user's carpet name so I found a way to change it using the user accounts from the search

and after changing it it still didn't do anything for the program so I was gonna check some options in my control panel and thats when it it showed the message from the first image, and my thought was changing my user name to the original way it was but when I saw in the User Accounts window the list of users for this computer was empty so now I don't know what to do, hoping I can solve this fast since now I don't want to turn my computer off since I'm scared of being locked of my account and be unable to use it

a reboot may fix things, it'll be a suck it and see exercise.
but while you still have it on, create another user account and when you reboot, try logging in under that new account.
also try restarting into Safe Mode.

have you played around with the registry at all?

also while the sun shines, click on Start and start typing reset, choose Reset this PC, Get Started and select Keep files.
that'll do a repair reload of Windows, keeping your programs and settings.

but any outcome is dependent on what is causing this in the first place.

so maybe the first thing to do while you can is backups!!!

have you tried keyboard shortcuts to get into Control Panel?

like click Windows + R and type in control
or Start, Settings and type in Control Panel in the search field.
or Start, Windows System, Control Panel.
or in File Explorer, type Control Panel in the Address field.

if none of them work, your system is corrupted.
now, that may just be a glitch and a reboot could fix it.
or, a repair install, or even a fresh install.

all depends on what has gone pear shaped.

assume the worst - do your backups now.

Seems I found a fix

using this I was able to use the Administrator account and changed my other user back to the original name I had and that seem to fix the problem, after putting back the name it used to be I could use the control panel.
