Solved bluetooth connection not showing

Hello all, I'm trying to connect an xbox controller to my pc. The pc is showing tons of other bluetooth connections but not the controller, however, the controller does in fact connect to other devices,. I've tried restarting both the controller and the pc several times, checking for driver updates (and even reverting updates), I have even resorted to uninstalling and reinstalling certain drivers and nothing seems to work if anyone would be willing to help troubleshoot this I would really appreciate it (also i was not aware this would post in the operating systems section thats my bad)

Not all xBox controllers can connect to Windows & some require a specific dongle. Can you connect via cable OK?
Is there any error message when connecting via BT?
Have you pressed the sync button on the controller then placed the pc/BT is Sync mode?
Is the controller’s firmware up to date?
Which Windows version are you running?

I've connected before using both BT and a dongle, there are no messages it just does not show up in the bluetooth search, yes I am using the sync button to try to connect, I'm not sure about firmware but it worked just a few days ago and i dont think there has been an update since? and im on windows 10 2h22

Download then run Speccy ( free ) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

Only chiming in here as I had a similar thing happen and the Grandson figured it out, in my case every now and then Windows for some reason would identify the controller as an audio device and it then wouldn`t work, from memory I seem to recall that he clicked on the audio settings tab, bottom right of the taskbar and again only from memory I think that he changed a setting back to USB device and the controller started working again, this may not be the issue here though.

1. Uninstall your existing bluetooth stack (driver software that came with the bluetooth adapter).
2. Reboot your computer and click "Cancel" when Windows asks for the driver.
3.Run BluetoothDriverInstaller.exe and follow instructions of the wizard.

Download and install the BluetoothDriverInstaller_x64.exe this tool will usually find a decent generic blue tooth driver for your machine.
