Solved BIOS not detecting newly installed internal HDD

Some background first, I came on this website seeking help for my failing hard disk and I got really good advices from you all so I decided to get a new hard drive.

Today my BarraCuda 1TB that I ordered online came and I went to install it onto my computer. To my dismay it was unable to be detected by BIOS and upon booting up windows, I was also unable to partition the hard disk. I tried plugging it into different SATA ports but it was still the same. I even went to reconnect my old spoilt HDD and even it was able to show up on bios.

any advice?

Update: have left the BarraCuda hard drive connected inside my desktop (still not working) and I keep experiencing blue screen of deaths every 15 minute of using my computer
