So this started about two weeks ago.
I play the game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and for the past two weeks, my ping has been horrible. Before two weeks my ping would be around 30ms, if that, and when I shoot at a player or something it would go to about 35ms - 40ms. Now, my ping is around 60-80ms and if I shoot at a player, see any enemy player, it will jump up from 60-80ms to around 120-140ms and then go back down. I have not done anything to my router, haven't changed any cables, settings, nor installed anything on my computer.
I have ran a tracert to 8.8.8.8 and pinged 8.8.8.8, but I deleted the file I copied and pasted the results into, so I will have to do it again and paste it here. I have tried a different cat-6 cable, different port on the router, and tried resetting my router and firewall settings. Nothing seems to fix it.
I have contacted bright house, and because my download and upload speeds look fine and my ping has an **average** of 50ms, then there is no problem to be worried about. I play Counter-Strike, I am on a team, in a league, and we have a match tonight. I don't really know what else I can do/try to fix this issue. It started randomly and has been the bane of my existence every since. :/
Anything will help.
