If I am looking at your picture correctly then I think that you are referring to jumper pins and jumper caps, see info here
Do you not have your motherboard manual.
Edit to add, see page 32 of the user manual which if you do not already have you can download from here the info explains how the caps should be placed depending on how the Light Bars are intended to be set up.
