My PSU is an EVGA Supernova 1600W T2 80+Titanium PSU. I also noted that the PSU power usage is very high when using 7z, that's what crashed it the other day; not sure if that has any significance, but seems rather high.

I have removed the USB cables. The CPU is showing 96% usage when I use 7z; with the PSU equally showing very hight usage. I put a water cooler on the CPU a number of years back. Maybe I put the fan in the wrong way about. I read the advantages of putting a water cooler fan to blow or suck air; maybe it needs replaced.

Try using a live version of Linux from a USB drive. No need to install.

That should be able to read the drive where you can get your if not some of your personal data.

Linux Mint or Ubuntu are some of the easiest to use that I have seen.
