Solved 3600 MHz RAM on B450 Gaming Plus?

Hello,

I was thinking on upgrading my RAM from 3000 MHz to 3600 MHz but the MSI B450 Gaming Plus only supports up to 3466 MHz (https://de.msi.com/Motherboard/B450-GAMING-PLUS/Specification). Can I still buy the 3600 and it will underclock on its own or is it not compatible at all?

Should I even upgrade?

My Specs:
Motherboard: MSI B450 Gaming Plus
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5600x3D
GPU: AMD 6700xt
RAM: G.SKILL DDR4 16gb 3000MHz
PS: Some 850 Watt one idk

if the memory is not listed in the QVL manual from their website, it is not guaranteed to work even if it may boot up and run, you may get the occasional BSoD or weird thing happen and always wonder 'is it the memory?'.

sticking to what they recommend will give you one less thing to worry about. :)

much better getting a motherboard that supports higher memory speeds in my book.

Yet the CPU will only support this RAM and is outside of that.
