Solved 2windows installations

Hey guyz,
Need a hand heere. I had one windows 10 succesfully installed.
Got a new laptop pc with win8.1 on it, i wanted a clean installation of win10 to it so i swapped the hdd, put it in my desk rig and did the installation. Removed the hdd, put in laptop, runs ok.
Now it bsods on a (unsuccesfull) boot on my desk rig, some bootloader issue? Upon trying to fix things, it says i have now 2 installations there.. it boots when i choose the default win installation but the bsod comes back (on every boot/reboot)..
Any ideas how to fix this?

Hello Goorath,

You cannot install Windows on one spec of computer then install the drive and expect it to work without issue, reason being is that Windows will try and install the drivers and set up procedure for the first computer which will cause the second computer to malfunction.

Question, why did you not just upgrade Windows 8.1 to Windows 10.

Thanx for the reply,
I have already solved it. You're right, 2nd hdd needed clean install directly from the laptop (had to enable legacy in bios) and i managed to get rid of the install that was bsoding, in msconfig. That fixed me for good.
And why did i not upgrade the fella? There was loads of junk and errors on the laptop hdd and i just did a full format which got rid of the errors (hddscan reported many bad sectors before the format, after it, no prob)

Thanks for the update but please do take heed of what has been advised above by Russ, bad sectors do not get overwritten they get flagged and then ignored and were you get even one bad sector more will follow.

What's strange, s.m.a.r.t. does not even mention this (no read issues, no write issues ever) and the size is exactly as is came from the factory. Still it does not matter to me if the disk goes to a silicon heaven, the laptop is just for bedtime fun (yt, movies etc.)
