If this is true, why does my CPU still work? The motherboard software did not show that though.

Hello enthusiast1988,

Always trust the MBs BIOS and own monitoring software over that of any third party program, HWMonitor is very good but sometimes a MBs own monitoring software can cause HWMonitor to show an anomalous reading, as you suspect if the CPU was as hot as what is being reported by HWMonitor you would be looking at a flaming mass or worse.

All good then and thank you for letting us know that the HWMonitor reading had been confirmed as being incorrect by way of checking it in the BIOS and other apps.
