2018 HP Laptop 15_da0xxx

Status
Not open for further replies.
Product Name: HP Laptop 15_da0xxx

Serial Number CND82755W0

Product Number: 45U40UA#ABA

Windows 10 Home 64 bit

The laptop is not under warranty anymore. The HP Support Assistant cannot be updated. Specifically, the Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Driver and the Realtek RTL8XXX Series for Wireless LAN Drivers for MS Window 10 (DHCHU) cannot be updated.

The HP Support Assist is:

version: 8.5.37.19

framework: 12.8.37.11

configuration files: 8.0.3736.1538

Also, “Downloading messages and updates definitions” cannot be updated.

My questions are:

1) What can be done to bring this laptop into proper working condition?

2) What would the approximate cost be?

Thanks very much.

A 1: You don`t mention anything being physically broken.

A2: A bit of time and effort, a minimal charge for downloading anything that may be needed and perhaps a cent or two`s worth of electricity.

We need more info to see if there is actually anything that needs fixing; HP don`t support their products forever but the products themselves will carry on regardless.

You running Windows 10 suggests that you have zero to worry about atm.

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Thanks, phillpower2! There is nothing physically broken, the laptop is just older and was rarely used. I will definitely do as you suggest. I have to finish a number of things today, so I may not be able to get to this to this until next weekend, but I will follow up. Thanks again for taking the time to read my post and respond!

You are welcome and will leave your thread marked as pending to give you a chance to get back to us.

NB: Noticed your post on Toms Hardware, you seem to be further along with that thread so best suggestion is for you continue there rather than have two threads going advising you of the same thing.

Got it. I cross-posted because I was unsure if i would receive a response. I will follow your suggestion to continue with Tom's Hardware. I appreciate your time and advice. Have a great day!
