OpenDNS Config for Windows

This Tutorial is written to help you configure your DNS to point to OpenDNS's DNS servers to help protect you online.

Please see below for the correct Windows Version

Windows 10 - Vista:

1. Click the Start Menu Icon and then select Control Panel.
2. You will see Control Panel coming up, Now look for feature Network and Sharing Center.
3. Now find the Local Area Connection under 'Active Networks.' and press the Properties button
4. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 and click Properties.
5. Click the button Use the following DNS server addresses: and type in OpenDNS its adressses:
   
   208.67.222.222
   208.67.220.220
6. Click OK button. Then close all the popups, You can test if the settings worked by going to http://208.67.222.222 in your web browser. If it doesn't work, then restart your system and try again.

Windows XP:

1. Select Control Panel from the start menu by clicking the windows icon or pressing windows flag
2. Find the option Network Connections from the Control Panel choices and click on it.
3. Choose your active connection and press the Properties button.
4. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties.
5. Click the button Use the following DNS server addresses:
   208.67.222.222
   208.67.220.220
