Google DNS Config for Windows

This Tutorial is written to help you configure your DNS to point to Google's DNS servers to help protect you online.

Please see below for the correct Windows Version

Windows 10 - Vista:

1. Click the Start Menu Icon and then select Control Panel.
2. You will see Control Panel coming up, Now look for feature Network and Sharing Center.
3. Now find the Local Area Connection under 'Active Networks.' and press the Properties button.
4. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 and click Properties.
5. Click the button Use the following DNS server settings:
   Preferred: 8.8.8.8
   Alternate: 8.8.4.4
   
6. Click OK button. Click Close button. Click Disable button. Click Enable button. Click Close.

Windows XP:

1. Select Control Panel from the start menu by clicking the Windows icon or pressing Windows flag.
2. Find the option Network Connections from the Control Panel choices and click on it.
3. Choose your active connection and press the Properties button.
4. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties.
5. Click the button Use the following DNS server settings:
   Preferred: 8.8.8.8
   Alternate: 8.8.4.4
   
6. Click OK button. Click Close button. Click Disable button. Click Enable button. Click Close.
