First thing is you have to stop asking so many questions all at once.
Ask a question, get a reply.
Once that is finished another question.
It gets to confusing for you and the helper.
Edge does not show bookmarks like firefox.
You have the option to use Favorites and pin that or use Side bar.
Try side bar.
Click on the 3 dots at the top.
Click on settings.
Click on sidebar and turn it on

On the far right hand side of the side bar click the + button to add a website
and you can take out the icons already listed.
Scroll down to manage and turn off ones you do not want.

What was the modem problem you posted before

I think you are referring to when i said i had to use the 30 second thing by unplugging the modem for 30 secs when i turned the comp off and turned it back on. It didnt connect unless i unplugged for 30 secs or so. However, it hasnt repeated itself since so it no longer seems to be a problem.

Yes. And again thanks to your persistence i am really enjoying this new machine. I do have 1 further Q. It appears windows defender is a very good protector. Is it unnecessary to add a malware detector?

no need to add anything else to Windows - Defender is the only protection you need.
Personally I also use an extension in my browsers called uBlock Origin, have found it to be excellent over the years.

Are you still having internet connection issues?

EDIT
MacAfee was uninstalled correct?
McAfee is gone and i am connecting fine. I suppose the thread can be closed. Can i still acess the thread after its closed? There is alot of good info here. thanks.

no worries - will close the thread as solved.
you'll still be able to view the thread, just not add any new info.

if the new info is concerning this thread, PM any staff member to have it re-opened.
or if it is a new question/issue, you can open a new thread.
