    Sorry I'm not an expert. That why I came here for help and advice. Tried this but it was exactly the same experience as trying to install windows from the installation CD. The SDD is not detected, i.e. there is no where to install windows.

    Under Storage where it lists the SATA ports Window displays "select boot device". No devices are listed. Note I disconnected my CD/DVD player. I don't know if it makes a difference but it is a portable one that gets connected up via USB not SATA.

    Samsung 860 evo (1TB) Yes, I'm not having any difficulties running the windows installation disc. Yes but no drives (read SSD) are listed Yes it is genuine. It was purchased from a PC Parts retailer in Australia. (Instructions state I am allowed 5 installations, this would be number 3).

    okay but how? I can't wipe the drive in the BIOS because the SSD doesn't come up? I can't use the windows installation CD to erase and re-install because the SSD isn't detected.

    The SSD was the one I used pre upgrade. Since it came out I’ve not done anything with it (i.e is, apps, files are still on there). I can’t repair or clean install anything because the drive isn’t detected

    No I don't. Could it be a driver issue? I checked the cables with spares that I had again and tried using the window installation disc to see if it could detect it but no joy.

    LOL yeap it was plugged in. Update: So I got through to the BIOS finally. (Apparently I have to use the cord that came with the monitor) The only thing that stuck out was that the SATA Ports are showing as not present? Shouldn't I see my SD here?

    I don't have another machine to test it in, but is was working fine prior to the upgrades.
