    Thank you Rustys I hace copied the document into Note Pad and fixed it and copied it back into a blank document in Word and it is fine I have reviewed all the settings that you have mentioned but the original document is still giving me grief so I will get rid of it now that I have a clean version

    Yes it is just one document If I copy the document and paste it into a blank word document the same fault occurs If I just select a blank word document and start an entirely new document there is no problem I know where paragraph settings are but what would I be looking for Since I got Office...
