    Yeah i've definitely done that - I left them all unplugged for a good 30+ minutes and plugged modem in first, then 10 mins between each cabled device on it, then the router, then the same ~10mins between each device, and powered each device (camera / PC's) after plugging them in

    99% sure the answers are yes and yes. For the final1% - Please define what you mean by a "proper power cycle" To be sure about the firmware - I've just requested from optus to push the latest out to my router.

    I only run the windows anti/firewall on both PC's, if at all. Have enough knowledge to avoid anything that will infect me - except perhaps if toolbox is malicious :P cause i got that right away ;)

    The new modem is already gone & refunded - The sagemcom F@st & TPLINK TD-w8970 HAD been working for 3 yrs+ and that's what i'm back with.

    Will followup your suggestion(s) shortly Mal - It was working perfectly until i tried out the other modem - I am back to my original set-up now which had been working fine for ~3yrs since I installed it all - Only after attempting a change has these issues occurred
