    How do I remove "Cleanmyphone"?

A friend has a Samsung Tab A9 and uses it to mainly play games. At some time she must have tapped on an advert to install the Cleanmyphone app.

This is very intrusive and pops up all the time with frightening messages telling her that she has a virus and needs to download things to sort it out.

She has Avast anti virus installed and that reports that all is OK.

Cleanmyphone doesn’t appear in the apps list in settings, neither does it appear in the apps list in the Play Store. But it does have a tab that appears on the tablets home screen. Tapping and holding on this doesn’t do anything.

Any ideas on how to uninstall it please?

        Thanks for your replies.

She’s elderly and only uses it for games, emails and chatting with her son on Teams, so no data to speak of.

I won’t see her until next Thursday so will update you then.

          Factory Reset (Last Resort):
          [ul]
[li]If the virus persists, back up your important data. [/li]

[li]Go to Settings > General management > Reset > Factory data reset. [/li]

[li]Confirm the reset and follow the on-screen instructions. [/li][/ul]

Revo Uninstaller has an Android app I believe.
I’d also check to see if the app has a subscription & if so to cancel it.
I suspect though that the phone will need resetting to factory default.
