I have a PC (Dell Inspiron 5675 - Windows 10, 32GB RAM, AMD Ryzen 7 1700 Eight-Core Processor 3.00 GHz, Samsung SSD 980 1TB, TOSHIBA HDD DT01ACA100, Dell PSU AC460AM-01) that is approaching two years of use. I first noticed maybe a couple months ago that an open-world game I like that also demands a lot from my computer was starting to make my fan go into overdrive, and over the course of a few days it progressively got worse to the point where most of the games I played would inexplicably crash after causing a spike in my computer's power usage. I haven't had much free time recently to resolve the issue, so unfortunately I can't remember any specific events that would cause any damage to my computer, but I did manage to make it a little better (which I also don't remember how), and now I can confidently run most apps and not fear crashing with the exception of games like GTA and Slime Rancher, I believe due to the fact that my computer can no longer handle loads that big. I should note that at least for GTA, my game also almost always crashes if I tab out then back in for any reason. I have been searching for an answer all day (I have tried rebooting my games and pc, making sure I'm using dedicated instead of integrated graphics, using different game resolutions, greatly reducing graphical quality, checking for updates, and so much more), but nothing I found has solved it. Can anyone please help my fix this or at least locate the source of the problem please?

what process in Task Manager is showing the high power usage?

as to the high fan noise, have you taken off the side cover and blown out any dust build-up; from the fan blades, chassis vents, and heatsinks?

from the Speccy report, I see you have 2 different memory modules, so I would at a start be removing one and running the rig to see if the crashes reduce. 16GB should still be ample for your gaming.

the Ryzen 7 1700 is over 5 years old, is it still on those games minimum spec requirements?

Which Windows build are you running? 21H1, 21H2 etc - Speccy shows 20H2 which is a year out of date. I would recommend updating to 21H2.
Speccy shows Adobe flash player which was removed by a Windows update so you may wish to try uninstalling this with Adobe’s Uninstaller if possible.

According to speccy you have a
8192MB ATI AMD Radeon RX 580 (Dell):
Requires a 500 watt PSU minimum.

You state that you have a
Dell PSU AC460AM-01
Which is a 460 watt PSU and probalby put out 385 watts at best.

Thank you, I had suspected that it was something to do with the PSU but I didn't know if I could fix it or had to replace it or what. I went on some other websites and ran a PSU watt supply calculator, and the recommendation from the calculators was to either find a 500 watt PSU, or give my computer some wiggle room and go for 700-800 watts. I'm not experienced with computer builds or figuring out part compatibility, so could you possibly let me know which company(s) are most reliable and how many watts you think I need and if there is anything else I should keep in mind when buying a replacement?

EVGA, SeaSonic, and Corsair have excellent skin in the game.
but really, any provider that gives a 10 year warranty is worthy of your money.
also, only get a 80+ Gold or above and go for at least 700watts.

This may also help with your decision on getting a better PSU.
