Hello Everyone.
I'm in the situation that i recently built my own computer for the first time. I have since then run into a very strange problem. Sometimes my screens go completely black and looses all video feed. The screens aren't turned off and the program that is running when it happens is still running like normal. The audio is a bit choppy and then the system crashes and reboots all on it's own. I have no idea why this happens and every fix i've tried to run hasn't worked.

I've tried removing all video drivers with DDU and reinstall them directly from the NVIDEA site. I've tried freshly installing windows. I've made sure my ram is slotted in as they should but nothing is helping. The crashes keep happening.

The crashes totally random too. Sometimes it's when I'm playing a really demanding games, sometimes it happens when it's sitting idle and it's happpened when I've just been watching youtube as well. My components aren't overheating either because I've checked tempratures and none of them come even close to the dangerzone.

I've gone into eventlogger to see which errors it logs when it's shuts down which I've attached with translations (My system is in danish) along with a link from Speccy about my system

I really really hope you can help me see if there is a fix or i need to return my GPU and get a new one. Thank you in advance

P1: The computer was rebooted after errorchecking. The error was 0x00000116.

P2: The system shutdown was unexpected

P3: Description for event ID 14 from scource nvlddmkm was not found. Either a componenent that is causing the issue isn't installed on the local pc or the installation was damaged. You can update or repair the component on the local pc. If the event originates from a different pc the visual information should be saved with the event. The event contained following information: ______________. The messenger resource is available but the message was found in the messenger table

P4: The secure boot update failed to update a secure boot variable with error Wrong Parameter... For more information, please see: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2169931 (The error code it gives me in eventlogger is 1796)

P5: The system was rebooted without closing correctly first. This error can be because the system stopped answering, went down or the power stopped suddenly.

If you have only recently built this computer there is something seriously wrong. the wrong components have been used, hundreds of GBs of storage space have been used on one drive and the second looks to be so full that it may be corrupted.

Have you used parts out of more than the one PC and jumbled them together.

Are the drives out of another computer and likewise was Windows and the personal data installed on another computer.

I really really hope you can help me see if there is a fix or i need to return my GPU and get a new one.

There is zero to suggest that there is anything wrong with the GPU but we do need to know the brand and model name or number of the PSU and is it out of the box new.

The only thing I salvaged from my old pc is the SSD. Everything else is new. I have tho had problems with the old ssd that my pc doesn’t recognise it or only recognises that it has 30GB’s on it even tho there’s supposed to be 500gb’s on it. On the old drive there is all my old files but when we had trouble getting the pc to recognise it we wiped it.

My PSU is a Asus ROG strix gold aura edition 750 watts.

Sorry but that is contradictory, you say that all your files are on the drive but then you say you wiped it, it can't be both so which is it.

Are you saying that you put these parts together and then used Windows media to do a clean install and since you did that you have saved hundreds of GBs of data to the same drive.

The PSU is okay but the RAM is totally wrong for this build.

You have two different spec of screen, that is a massive no no as having two different refresh rates for one thing confuses the GPU.

That drive needs to be removed from this computer until the PC is running stable.

Can I ask that you do not quote every reply as we have to read the full post to make sure nothing gets missed,, thanks.

Sorry I'm new to this site so I don't have much grip on the posting etiquette.

The old SSD is a bit of mystery. When installing it and having trouble with it being recognised by the pc and tried to wipe it but we can't see the contents of it anywhere so we don't know if we succeeded sorry to make my explanation contradictory. As you say this old drive might be corrupted so I'll remove it and admit it's a lost cause.

This old drive is the only thing that isn't new in my pc. All the other parts are out of the box new and built with my friend who is really tech savvy and has built computers before. He made sure all of the parts where compatible.

No worries but as you can imagine we have a lot to read through each day so can do without reading things that are not helpful.

The SSD I would remove and put to one side and once the computer is stable look at putting the drive back in or using an enclosure to try and recover your data.

You never answered the above and it is important.

Not here to criticize anybody so will just say that not all your parts are compatible with both the RAM and different screens being problematic.

The screen issue you can resolve by just sticking with the one monitor until you can get two of the same spec but the RAM will cause you a bottleneck until you swap in the correct spec.

Sticking with your present brand of RAM the example here is what you need, nothing faster and nothing slower, 5200MT/s is the fastest that your CPU can handle.

Edit to add, another one that is on the MBs support list G.Skill Trident Z RGB Z5 hukommelsesmodul 32 GB 2 x 16 GB DDR5 5200 Mhz
