I have a fairly new pc with a asus z170-a motherboard i7 7700k gtx1070 Corsair 850 watt power supply. It wont Boot sometimes but sometime it boots to bios then sometimes to windows but it take 30 mins of power off unplug plug in power on to get it to Boot. Need help please.

Well it’s over clock but not very high 4.5 gigs
And it says On bios screen over lock failed but I click f1 then click boot and it’s just fine I’ve had the computer over a year now on this over clock

Booting into Bios has happened to me a number times , when Overclocking.
I would set Bios back to defaults, then do a fresh Overclock, again.

Find the clear CMOS jumper and short it with a jumper pin. Turn the system on and off again, and unjump the jumper. That should reset the CMOS to defaults, so you can go into the Bios and readjust things. From the sound of it, your OC is just more than your chip can handle.

Always worked for me on many Mobo's.
Take the CMOS Battery out for 5 mins. Reinsert and try that.(One that looks like a shiny coin.)
What exactly did you do with the Jumper> You pulled it off the board, and then what?

I did that pulled out battery 10 mins reset bios tried to reboot no post but I get a flashing dram-led light when I restart the computer

It’s a asus z170-a I looked up where the jumper was and there is not one so I used a flat blade screwdriver on the CLRTC 1and 2 prongs

There has to be. Prongs 2 and 3 is where you should put the Jumper Pin,to clear the CMOS.
Then back to 1 and 2.
What happened to the Jumper?

I just had a look at my Z170 Board. Look for a small button Top Right hand side of Mobo.
Has CMOS next to the button. That's the one you press to clear CMOS.
If the LED is blinking it's possible you have bad power or a short somewhere. Bad connection.
Try one Ram stick, as well.
PS. Very Late here. Someone else may be able to help you.
