any game i try to play crashes. im pretty sure it because of my graphics drivers, sometimes when a game crashes it will give me a text bot that mentions graphics or graphics drivers . i have a 3050 and my game ready drivers are up to date (version 528.02). i have re installed the drivers, using the built in reinstaller in geforce now and by using DDU. and that returned fruitless i know it isnt because my rig cant handle the graphics because it still crashes on low settings. i stress tested my gpu using Furmark. it ran fine.

my buddies theorize that it could be they way the game ready drivers are interacting with windows(10) or my motherboard.

what would i need to do in order to stop my games from crashing?

my PC's relevant components if it helps:
Motherboard: ASUS PRIME B650M-A AX
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X
GPU: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3050

if you want or need any more info in order to help, id be glad to share.

the Speccy report will tell us more....

but how many games are we talking?
what are the games?
did they ever work?
can you not play a game without the Game Ready driver, just the GPU driver?
have you tried another GPU?

what is a "speccy report" and how do i find it? EDIT: i just saw the post above. i didnt see them when i made this reply originally. i will get you a speccy scan and system info log

the games ive tried to play are: fortnite, red dead 2, the outer worlds, and skyrim. the only game ive played without a crash was kerbal space program.

yes, they worked before i upgraded my pc (i did not get a new GPU just a new motherboard, CPU, and ram). i wiped and reformatted my drives when i did.

i was of the understanding that the game ready drivers were the GPU's drivers. i got them from geforce experience.

no, i dont have another gpu on me but if neccesary i can borrow one from a friend

OK, so new CPU, mobo and RAM.
and a fresh install of Windows.
beforehand, games all good - now most games fail.

one potential flaw could be the reinstall.
I would have only had the main, boot drive installed (no USB or secondary drives)
then load the chipset drivers, then GPU driver.
then made sure the system was stable for a while (hours or days).
then do the Windows Updates.
check the new mobo has the latest BIOS in case there are firmware updates that support your GPU better.
then load one of the games and see what happens.

this is where my noob-ness in PC gaming comes to the fore, I have never delt with Game Ready drivers which seem to only be needed to finely configure the GPU for known games to get the best settings.
I see no reason why the normal GPU driver won't suffice, maybe not optimised for best settings, but let's get the rig not crashing for starters.

so try that angle.

Did you download and install the chipset drivers?
https://www.asus.com/us/motherboard...elpdesk_download/?model2Name=PRIME-B650M-A-AX
Before doing any install, it is a good idea to go to the support page for your system. Download the drivers you are going to need i.e. chipset, sound, video, wireless, etc. WhilstWin10 has a lot of native drivers, Microsoft drivers are designed for ease of use and are NOT designed for any type of performance. Store these drivers on another usb or you can even just make a folder on your install usb when you are finished making the install usb. Copy the drivers into that folder.

When you are finished with the Windows install, then install your drivers.

  • Chipset or Motherboard
  • Sata or hard drive
  • Video adapter
  • Network interface card (NIC)
  • Audio
  • Touchpad
  • Any other hardware drivers needed for your particular model.
Reboot after installing the drivers.

The link you gave shows this.

Could you also include the power supply specs E.g Cooler Master 850W Gold V2 NOT E.g 850w

i completely forgot about the chipset drivers, however installing them didnt help.

so youre saying i should reinstall windows and follow those steps?

I would too, and yes, no guarantee of success but at the very least you'll have a clean install, done in a way that you can logically pinpoint if it goes pear shaped.
