Can I upgrade to a 1650 or 1660?

I am currently using a HP Compaq Elite 8300 SFF and I want to know if I can upgrade to a graphics card. The integrated graphics are just not cutting it and I want a good sub $200 graphics card that has good bang for buck. Upon searching people recommended me the gtx 1650 or 1660, but I am not sure how much my motherboard/power supply can safely take. Is it possible to upgrade?
 
Let's get some more information:

Download and run the free version of speccy.

Once you have ran speccy, follow the instructions to upload a snapshot found here.


To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:
  1. In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.
  2. In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.
  3. Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot dialog box. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Your computer could do with a bit of cleanup, probably a refresh of Windows as well, this would improve overall speed and help optimize things.
Something to keep in mind for the future or now if you wish.


As far as adding a GPU, I find that power supply insufficient for any GPU. You claim yours is the SFF, which only has a 240W PSU.

On top of that, GPUs create a lot of heat, with an office-style small form factor tower I have concerns on proper thermals - as those aren't typically designed with proper cooling in mind. This is assuming that the card would even fit in the case, which I don't believe it will, but measuring will tell you for sure (the NVIDIA reference 1650-1660s are 145mm long by 111mm wide, different vendor cards vary in size).


With all of this, I'd personally be looking into building a new computer at this rate. By the time you replace the PSU, Case, and most likely Motherboard, you'd be looking at almost an entirely new system already.

A lot of these parts are over 10 years old, if you want to try and cobble together a machine that will work - you most certainly can, but I see a better value in investing in some slightly newer tech personally.
