Xbox controller PC adapter not working. Lots of miscellaneous problems. Think it's a BIOS issue?

Hello, i used to have an Xbox Controller Wireless PC Adapter, and it used to work. Then all of a sudden it stopped working one day. Im not certain, but I think it may have been after my tower fell over when moving it to my new house. And it fell hard.. fml... I'm cringing on the verge of tears just typing this. Well so I tried all the troubleshooting on Microsoft's help page for the adapter. And it still didnt work so I bought a new one just to see. And the new one doesn't work either.. Even after repeating all of Microsoft's troubleshooting steps with drivers and all that.

Another problem I've been having is random buttons on various websites/programs won't click. They just "bounce" when clicked. I cant help but feel like this all related to BIOS, because I've never updated it since I assembled the PC almost 4 years ago. I've been too afraid to. Any thoughts on why these wireless adapters do not work on any USB slot? When my KB+M and other devices do? Thank you!

Welcome to PCHF Xbox_adapter_help,

If other devices are working in the USB ports while the xbox controller will not the issue is related to the controller/

Have you tried uninstalling the controller in the Device Manager then restarting the computer and reinstalling the controller.
